At the beginning of the twentieth century, this so called Showman's Engine could be found at every funfair. It was used to drive the showman's roundabouts and to provide illumination for the fairground.
The oldtimers were decorated with bright colours and fitted with a dynamo
so that they could generate their own electricity.
